All Needles on Deck for Hurricane Harvey!

Among the thousands of people who lost their homes as a result of Hurricane Harvey are children whose lives have been disrupted by the devastation.

Laura has been thinking a lot about her own adolescence in Houston, and how the knitting community came together earlier this year to provide much-needed support during our own flood scare. Join Jimmy Beans in giving back and knitting hope for these kiddos!

For every Royal Petite Knit Kit sold, Jimmy Beans will donate $10 to our friends at The Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP). The founder of the program has pledged that 100% of the donations will go directly to the kids, some of whom have been affected not once, but twice (think Hurricane Katrina) by the havoc wrought by these natural disasters.

Knit your Royal Petite animal, then, if desired, add a personalized message of encouragement & send it back to us by October 31st. We will take care of mailing all of the animals to KIPP Houston Public Schools. KIPP will then pair your project with a student who has been directly affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Our goal? Raise $8,000 for KIPP, deliver joy (and stuffed animals) to 800 kiddos, and show the world the power of a knitting needle! ♥

What is KIPP?
The Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) is a non-profit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools serving elementary, middle, and high school students. KIPP has a 22-year track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and life. There are 28 KIPP schools in Houston serving approximately 14,500 students from low-income families.
