I haven't finished all the clues not because of yardage problems, just because I've been rather slow in knitting. Whether or not I have enough of Bated Breath left I will finish even if I have to use another colorway to do so. Thanks for your assistance and I love the pattern. Take care of yourself and the little one in the oven.

Diane A.DancingLeaf06https://www.blogger.com/profile/10416432993097476388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274338570144827085.post-47033384281223807282014-02-12T12:24:29.911-08:002014-02-12T12:24:29.911-08:00Hi Darlene!
I really appreciate your honesty and ...Hi Darlene!

I really appreciate your honesty and constructive feedback. I do understand that there are some unhappy people with the KAL who were not able to finish with the recommended amount of yarn. As for the rest, since the KAL isn't done yet, I am not sure how many will finish with the recommended amount just yet. My response to the anonymous poster was more about her accusations of me "blaming" participants which is really not the case at all. While I fully recognize that there are some frustrated people out there, I also recognize that there are a good number of people who are happy with the KAL and I am trying to keep the group moving forward in a positive way. I have also offered on multiple occasions to give a full refund of the yarn cost to those who are unhappy with the KAL. If you would like this, please contact JBW customer service and we will gladly credit you for the yarn and you can keep it for your future project. Nothing needed from you, other than a phone call. We are definitely not trying to leave the unhappy folks behind, as we do absolutely care about them. I've made this offer a number of times, and so far only one person has taken us up on it. If you'd like to, please give us a call and we'll gladly take care of it for you.

Best,
KristenKristenJBWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06202144493292028555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274338570144827085.post-65399997334711704402014-02-12T12:04:35.504-08:002014-02-12T12:04:35.504-08:00Has anyone who bought Baited Breath had enough to ...Has anyone who bought Baited Breath had enough to finish the pattern as written except you and your test knitters? The ones who didn't do all of the increases might make it. My gauge was right and I didn't have enough. I have ripped mine and will use the yarn for something else. I keep checking the forum on Ravelry just waiting to see if anyone buying the yarn was able to finish. I also looked on the project pages. You have 97 people who have frogged. This is very telling! My point is JBW used this pattern to sell yarn and didn't care enough about the knitters to give them a positive experience. BTW, I am not the previous poster, just someone who agrees.Darlenenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274338570144827085.post-68691022144184195292014-02-12T10:56:15.738-08:002014-02-12T10:56:15.738-08:00It's actually interesting to me that you feel ...It's actually interesting to me that you feel that participants are being "blamed." Do you really think other people feel this way or is this your perception? Most participants genuinely want to know what caused them to run short of yarn. Being honest with them about potential causes is not placing any blame, it's an attempt to problem solve. When they come to me asking what might have caused them to run out of yarn early, I am giving them honest answers & possibilities. Many folks are then realizing that they had not paid any attention at all to row gauge not realizing how important it can be or that theirs might differ so much. I know that the gauge I quoted was correct, and at the beginning I mentioned that row gauge was important to achieve as the yarn yardage on the project is quite close. My test knitters were able to achieve this gauge as well. I am sorry you feel this is happening, but instead of accusing me of "blaming" participants, you might remember that several people knit this project in advance and were able to finish with the yardage requirement given. If this is true, then would you rather I be dishonest with people just to make them feel better? Now that doesn't exactly seem right either, does it? KristenJBWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06202144493292028555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274338570144827085.post-40077590904307354632014-02-12T09:16:12.623-08:002014-02-12T09:16:12.623-08:00People are running out of yarn early even after as...People are running out of yarn early even after assurances as far back as 26 days ago that it would be fine. Seems like too many are running out for it to be blamed on stitch or row gauge. Perhaps the designer should look at her row gauge again to see if she is the one who is off rather than so many of the participants who seem to be running out at the same time. I don't think this MKAL was done properly to begin with and the designer only blames the knitters instead of taking the responsibility for what are her bad design choices. Not fair to the knitters who invested so much time in this "mystery" project let alone the yarn.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
