New Products = Great Gifts!

Happy December! If you're still working your way down your holiday gift list, or (like me) haven't even thought about it yet, we've got plenty of new stuff your fiber-loving friends and family will love! The best thing about new products? People are more likely to want them, and less likely to have them :)

Whether you are looking for some homemade gift-spiration or the perfect "something" for a fellow knitting addict, you can't go wrong with Stitch 'N Bitch Superstar Knitting. Author Debbie Stoller 's latest addition to the Stitch 'N Bitch series, Superstar Knitting is full of advanced techniques with easy-to-follow instructions!  There is a whole section on DIY knitting so you can start creating your own original projects too, and of course this book wouldn't be complete without a fantastic array of hip, stylish patterns!

New from Namaste, the Classic Hip Holster is perfect for anyone who's always on the go. These small, stylish and functional bags are perfect for keeping necessities close at hand without being a hassle. Featuring an across-the-chest strap, as well as a belt attachment, it is easy to carry whatever you need; small projects, camera, keys, wallet, phone... really just about anything! The Hip Holster makes a great gift for those who appreciate inconspicuous accessories with an element of style!

Hoping to knit up a few gifts before the holiday deadline? Consider using Berroco's Vintage Chunky. This versatile yarn is a soft acrylic and wool blend that comes in 24 heathery colors. Like it's worsted weight cousin, Vintage Chunky is machine washable. Being a bulky weight yarn, it works up in no-time on size 10 needles. I'm attempting to avoid another sleepless Christmas this year by knitting my dad's present in this sumptuous, itch-free yarn instead of Debbie Bliss's Baby Cashmerino :)

Knitting for a purple lover? Check out the newest addition to Lorna's Laces Color Commentary series, Lorna's Purple Mustang! Released in tandem with her latest book, The Knitter's Guide To Hand-Dyed And Variegated Yarn, this purple-tastic colorway was inspired by Lorna Miser (founder of Lorna's Laces) and her purple '65 Mustang convertible, Sunshine. Use a skein or two of the Shepherd Worsted for a purplicious scarf or a hank of Sport for a pair of Churchmouse Welted Fingerless Gloves! (PS: Lorna's new book is a must have for any fiber artist's library!)

Good luck with all your holiday shopping, crafting, crocheting and knitting!

  1. Purple would be good for my mother, she loves it. But unfortunately I've already done her gift.

  2. I know! We are thrilled to have KPPPM too, though it is getting overwhelming with so many colors to choose from!

Amanda, I am jealous of your ability to already have a gift done, mine are all in the conceptual phase :) Purple Mustang is a permanent addition to our Lorna's stock, so if you ever need some purple for your mom in the future, it will be here!
